Prowers Lodging Panel Funds Multiple Events
Seven requests for event funding were approved by the Prowers Lodging Tax Panel during their monthly meeting, Tuesday, March 20, for approximately $47,500. One item, funding the annual Discover Magazine advertisement, was continued until the April meeting. Representatives of the events outlined their need for funding, principally for advertising and some contract fees. Marguerite Broyles transitioned to her next amazing journey on December 6, 2011 surrounded by her loving family at the home of her daughter Sarah (David) Nettles in Tampa, Florida. Mag was born on July 14, 1943 in Lamar CO. Successful Share the Spirit Foundation Weekend
Numerous events combined this past weekend to raise $1,800 for area children during the Amache Studio Photography contest May 7. Over 140 persons attended the photo viewing which displayed the works of 29 photographers from Colorado and other states. Four artists sold their work. “Share the Spirit” Plans Mother’s Day Dessert Tasting & Photo Contest
Share the Spirit Foundation, which sponsors shoe drives for all of southeastern Colorado school children, will be serving “Sweet SINsations” desserts on Saturday May 7th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.. Benefit tickets are $10 for Amache Studio and Dee’s Designs for tastings of varied dessert delectable’s.
