City Council Revises Resolution Supporting PMC Expansion

Dear Editor, I went to Prowers Medical Center on April 6, to get x-rays and an MRI to try and find out why I was having excruciating pain in my arm and shoulder. I was treated very nicely when I handed them the $3,000 they insisted upon before I could receive the services, in case my insurance didn’t cover the cost. Prowers County GOP Assembly Selects Commissioner Candidates
The Prowers County Republican Party will offer a full slate of commissioner candidates for election in November. Their county assembly was held this past Saturday, March 24, at Lamar Community College. Recall Fails for Ruedeman, Campbell
The recall election to oust Prowers Medical Center board of director members, Marge Campbell and Candy Ruedeman, failed by a more than two to one plurality. Voters in the Prowers County Hospital District rejected the recall attempt. Ruedeman received 1,481 votes to remain on the board against 624 asking for her recall. PMC Continues Technology Update
A $2 million appropriation limit on capital improvement purchases for conversion to an electronic health record system was recently approved by Prowers Medical Center Board of Directors. They voted to apply $1,350,000 of that for the conversion during their monthly meeting, January 25. A $90,000 expenditure was approved for purchase of twelve electronic medication carts used to dispense medicines to patients in a more efficient and safe manner.
