2012 City Budget, Cow Palace Inn License Approved
The Lamar City Council approved The Cow Palace Inn’s application for a new Hotel & Restaurant Liquor license. The Cow Palace Inn has recently been sold and the former owners had allowed the liquor license to expire. The license was granted to Palace Holdings, LLC. Hartman Residents Fed Up with Cemetery Conditions
The apparent lack of any continuous maintenance at Hartman Cemetery brought over a dozen Hartman citizens to the Prowers County Commissioners meeting last Thursday, October 20, to protest conditions, a lack of action from the current Hartman Cemetery board members, and to seek some guidance on how to correct the situation. Commissioners Research Ambulance Service Options
Brandon Chambers, owner of Med-Trans Ambulance in Lamar, provided the Prowers County Commissioners with an update on the operations of the service this past Tuesday, September 27. Prowers County Backs Tri State Transmission Project
The Prowers County Commissioners joined with several other counties this past week, offering a resolution of support for the Tri State G & T, Tri State Lamar-Front Range Transmission Project. The project will develop a high voltage electricity transmission system by 2018 across eastern and southern Colorado. New District Boundaries Approved for Prowers County; Tri-State Resolution of Support Reviewed

Two Internal Medicine Doctors Join PMC Staff

Reorganization Plans Underway for Bristol-Granada Cemetery Board of Trustees
Over the years, documents pertaining to the operation and by-laws of the Bristol-Granada Cemetery District have faded from view. The three member trustee’s board has only had two members for several years, Lawrence McMillan and Ellis Wilson, and the cemetery employs a caretaker. The upkeep for the cemetery is derived from a county mill levy generating $17,283 a year and pays the caretaker’s salary of $800 a month.
