LUB Assesses Tornado Damages
The April 27 tornado depleted Lamar Light and Power’s inventory with needed replacements for the electrical distribution system. Interim Light Plant Superintendent Houssin Hourieh said power was finally restored to the entire service area after 16 hours. The tornados knocked down or damaged 16 steel poles, 29 wooden poles, 11 pole mount transformers, 40 cross arms, two circuit closers and a two-way radio repeater. Rigel Briefs Utility Board on Repowering Project Progress
The Lamar Utilities Board tabled a decision on a new, four year agreement with NMPP, Nebraska Municipal Power Pool. The organization provides electricity, natural gas and related services to a host of communities in six regional states. New Faces Coming to Holly Town Board
So far, so good, for the match-up of persons wanting to serve on the Holly Town Board and the number of vacancies listed. Holly Town Administrator Marsha Willhite presented a resolution that will cancel the scheduled April 3 election if no more candidates sign up with the Town Clerk by the March 16 deadline. Holly Town Board Approves Electricity Rate Hike
Holly residents will see a flexible electric rate hike for kilowatt hour use in their bills effective this month. The Holly Town Board voted for the ECA, Electric Cost Adjustment increase which will last until February of next year, at which time the board will discuss any alteration.
