Hydrology Report from National Weather Service-Pueblo–February 9, 2012 A warm and mainly dry January is keeping much of south central and southeast Colorado in moderate to severe drought. Hydrologic Summary: Mountain snowpack at the end of December was running slightly below average across southeast and south central Colorado. The Arkansas Basin reported 88% of average snowpack overall. The Rio Grande Basin in south central Colorado reported 92%. Streamflow was generally near average at the end of December. Drought Update, Record Heat Recorded in S.E. Colorado
The climate synopsis from the National Weather Service in Pueblo recapped conditions in the lower half of the state for this past July. The southwest monsoon became fairly active across the region over July, and brought some much needed rainfall to southern Colorado.
