Breaker failure is attributed to the loss of four Xcel transmission lines which caused power outages between Canon City and Kansas as well as from Pueblo to the New Mexico border. Prowers County Sheriff’s Report for May

The Prowers County Sheriff’s office responded to 317 calls for service in May, 2011.  Lamar had 158 calls and there were 108 issued from the county; Holly had 37 calls and Wiley had nine.  Lamar had 44 Jail related calls and eleven warrant arrests.  Holly had five calls for civil disputes and three for theft.  Calls from the county were broken down to 22 traffic offenses and 12 for various animal problems.  The sheriff’s office … Read entire article »
