Search Narrowing for Lamar City Administrator
The City of Lamar received 19 applications for the position of city administrator by the June 1 deadline, according to interim administrator Steve Rabe. He informed the council during their meeting, Monday, June 11, that the list has been narrowed to seven semi-finalists who participated in phone interviews. Prowers County Commissioners Review Annexation Regulations, Levee Upgrade Plans for County
The Prowers County Commissioners discussed several topics with Mary Root, County Land Use Administrator during their Thursday meeting, March 22. A flood map is being completed for officials in compliance with mandated upgrades to the levee system throughout the country, mandated by FEMA and officials from the National Insurance Commission. Deb Choat New Granada Town Trustee
Deb Choat was sworn in as a new Granada Town Board Trustee during the monthly meeting, Wednesday, January 11. Mayor Lesli Baca said there will be four board positions open this spring, as well as for mayor. City Moves Ahead on Willow Creek Levee Improvements/Swears in Councilmembers
Members of the former Lamar City Council held a brief session Monday night, November 14. City Clerk, Linda Williams reviewed the City Sales and Use Tax report for September collections, which detailed another monthly increase. Cost of Granada Levee Study will Impact Town Budget
The Granada Town Board could be facing an $84,000 bill for a study on needed improvements to the town’s levees. 2012 City Budget, Cow Palace Inn License Approved
The Lamar City Council approved The Cow Palace Inn’s application for a new Hotel & Restaurant Liquor license. The Cow Palace Inn has recently been sold and the former owners had allowed the liquor license to expire. The license was granted to Palace Holdings, LLC. Granada Town Board Facing Budget Increases
The Granada Trustees will be covering their 2012 budget with a fine tooth comb this fall, attempting to find extra revenues for additional expenses. Deputy city administrator Bill Pfeilsticker accepted the city administrator position, offered by the Lamar council during Monday night’s meeting, July 11. Highway 89 Bridge Construction Could Relieve Holly Levee Improvements
Holly Town Administrator Marsha Willhite shared her concerns with board members regarding the potential cost of improving the community’s four mile span of levees. Lamar Planning to Bid to Host State High School Rodeo Finals
