Weekend Highway Fatality in Bristol Area
The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a one-vehicle crash that occurred July 7, 2012 on Highway 385, milepost 103 north of Bristol. A 1994 Plymouth Voyager mini-van was traveling northbound when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and struck a delineator post. The mini-van was corrected back onto the roadway, swerved back and forth to the left side of the road where it struck another delineator post. Two car crash leaves one dead on Highway 50

Ammonia Spill Contained in Walsh, No Injuries
The all-clear was given for Wednesday’s anhydrous ammonia spill in Walsh at approximately 1pm. Three haz-mat vehicles and 75 responders took part in the evacuation of some three dozen residents and the handling of the tank carrying the fertilizer. Stranded by the Storm
Although our local region of southeast Colorado was not impacted by the snowstorm that hit hardest to the north, it was strong enough to cause a lot of experienced highway travelers to sit tight and wait it out. The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a single vehicle accident in Otero County on westbound Colorado 50, milepost 385. Blizzard Recovery
It didn’t take very long for blizzard-like conditions to affect highway travel in southeast Colorado and Lamar. The weather service made the call late Saturday, early enough to give some folk time to make preparations.
