SERVsafe Trainings Scheduled in Southern Colorado
The “Cottage Food Bill” passed by the Colorado Legislature in 2012 allows residents to sell specific foods that have been produced in their home; sellers must be certified in safe food handling and processing. Colorado State University Extension is offering ServSafe Food Protection Managers Certification Training to meet this requirement. ARPA Motion to Dismiss WildEarth Guardian Lawsuit Denied
Representatives of the Arkansas River Power Authority (ARPA) and the Lamar Utilities Board (LUB) expressed disappointment that their motion to dismiss the lawsuit filed by the WildEarth Guardians (WEG) in early 2011 was denied. ARPA sought to dismiss the lawsuit because the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) is already actively addressing the emissions issues at the Lamar Repowering Project. New District Boundaries Approved for Prowers County; Tri-State Resolution of Support Reviewed
The Prowers County Commissioners approved Resolution NO. 2011-8, adopting new district boundaries, during their regular meeting on Thursday, August 8. Lamar Utilities Board Discusses Potential November Rate Increase
Editor’s Note: Light Plant Superintendent Rick Rigel pointed out that potential rate increases at this time have not been finalized.
