March of 2012 was an unusually warm and dry month, across most of south central and southeast Colorado.  In Colorado Springs, the average monthly temperature in March was 48.0F. This is 8.9 degrees above normal and makes March of 2012 the warmest on record in Colorado Springs; surpassing the average temperature of 47.4F, recorded in March of 1910. Prowers County Receives Low Health Ranking in State Assessment

A new study by the Wisconsin Population Health Institute and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation places Prowers County close to the bottom of healthy counties in Colorado, and ranks Huerfano County last. Douglas County is ranked number 1.
