Lamar Teen Center Moving to Lincoln Elementary School
Lincoln Elementary School, vacant for the past year, will host the students from Project HOPE from the Lamar Teen Center beginning next month. The two story building on East Elm Street sees about 75 to 90 young students each day after school, according to HOPE director, Lori Hammer. Lamar 18 & Under Team Wins Merchants Park Tournament
The Lamar Merchants 18 & Under host team took only one loss during the three day Babe Ruth State Tournament this past Friday through Sunday at Merchants Park and won, defeating Limon in the extra game. Lamar Merchants 18 & Under Team Hosting Weekend Tournament
Lamar is hosting a three day, four-team Babe Ruth State Tournament, beginning Friday, July 6 at Merchant’s Park. The 18 & Under age division is under the Colorado Babe Ruth State sanction. Wolverines Win CABA State Championship
The Wolverines 14-year-old baseball team is comprised of 7 Lamar players and 5 Brighton players. HOPE Helping Hospice
Twelve willing students from the Lamar Teen Center, Project HOPE, braved the heat to help transfer stored equipment and boxes of miscellaneous items to the Lamar Area Hospice headquarters. Girls Represent Wrangler Gymnasts in Competitions
Rebecca Henderson of Lamar recently competed as an Optional B level gymnast at two Colorado E.A.G.L.E.S. USAG gymnastics meets. She represented the Wrangler Gymnasts of Wild West Athletics. Colorado Employment Situation – May 2012
Employers in Colorado added 2,000 nonfarm payroll jobs from April to May for a total of 2,291,700 nonfarm payroll jobs, according to the survey of business establishments. Private sector payroll jobs increased 2,300 and government decreased 300. Steer-Aid Clinic Teaches Youth
