May 2012 sales tax collections are up another month for the City of Lamar. City sales tax is up 7.33% over the same period last year and total sales and collections show a gain of 7.72% for a gain of $19,523.06. Total city sales tax collections for May are $256,618.54. Colorado Employment Situation – May 2012
Employers in Colorado added 2,000 nonfarm payroll jobs from April to May for a total of 2,291,700 nonfarm payroll jobs, according to the survey of business establishments. Private sector payroll jobs increased 2,300 and government decreased 300. According to the survey of households, the unemployment rate increased two-tenths of one percentage point over the month to 8.1 percent. City Posts Monthly Sales Tax Gain
Sales tax collections for April, 2012 indicated another straight month in the plus column for the City of Lamar. City Sales Tax collected for April was up 3.17 and Total Sales and Use Tax Collections were up 8.42% over last year for a gain of $20,761.91.
