The governor has rescinded the state wide fire ban.  With the recent rains I believe that Prowers County can to some extent rescind most of the restrictions. I will keep the fire ban on red flag days and require everyone to revert to our previous method of calling the Communications Center for a permit.  DENVER — The Colorado State University Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory has confirmed rabies in a cow from Bent County. Due to exposure with the rabid cow, four individuals now are receiving post-exposure rabies vaccinations. Two skunks with rabies were reported in the same vicinity this spring.
