Precinct Voting is Underway in Prowers County
Over 2,000 mail-in ballots have been sent out to Prowers County registered voters for the June 26 primary. Provisional ballots are also available at these voting precincts for voters who are casting their ballots out of their district. The precincts are also a drop off point for voters who have filled out their mail-in ballot, but want to save on a stamp. Second Annual Walter Ely Scholarship Fund Winner Announced
Andrea Schultz has won the second Annual Southeastern Developmental Services scholarship in memory of Walter Ely. Ely, who passed away in 2010, was a well-known figure in Lamar from his one-man can collection drive along Main Street and throughout the community. This is the second year that SDS, Southeastern Developmental Services, has awarded a $500 scholarship.
