SERVsafe Trainings Scheduled in Southern Colorado

The “Cottage Food Bill” passed by the Colorado Legislature in 2012 allows residents to sell specific foods that have been produced in their home; sellers must be certified in safe food handling and processing.  Colorado State University Extension is offering ServSafe Food Protection Managers Certification Training to meet this requirement.    ServSafe Training is scheduled June 9 in Rocky Ford and June 18 in Lamar; additional trainings are offered outside southeast Colorado on alternate dates.  The eight-hour … Read entire article »

Bill Sinclair of Las Animas Honored with ‘Cornerstone Award’

LAS ANIMAS, Colo. – Longtime hunter education instructor Bill Sinclair has become the first recipient of the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Hunter Education “Cornerstone Award” for his commitment to teaching others about hunting since the 1960s.
