Mission Villanueva is Expanding
Contractors laid the finishing touches to a concrete base, site of a future walk-in freezer/cooler at Mission Villanueva in Lamar this past Wednesday, May 23. Valley National Bank is Consolidating Main St. Branch
Valley National Bank in Lamar will close its bank at 411 South Main Street on Monday, July 2, 2012. Denise Carder, Marketing and Operations Officer for the bank said this is a consolidation move, only. With only four employees at the Main Street location, and the other bank only two blocks away at 204 South Fourth Street, the decision to consolidate was a logical move. Randle Realty in Lamar now has the exclusive listing for the Prowers County Development Incorporated incentive property. 2012 Relay for Life this Saturday
The Magic of Relay; Dream It, Hope It, Cure It The annual Lamar Relay for Life is set for this weekend at Savage Stadium, June 2 and 3. Organizers hope to raise $85,000 for this year, surpassing last year’s mark of $81,274.23. The 2010 goal was $68,000. Lamar Light Plant Took $125,260 Equipment Hit from April Tornado
The April 27 tornado in Prowers County caused $125,260.33 in equipment damage for Lamar Light and Power. The figures were presented by interim Light Plant Superintendent Houssin Hourieh during the May 29 meeting of the Lamar Utilities Board. The City of Lamar’s insurance carrier, CIRSA has been given the cost of damages for reimbursement. Lamar Council Authorizes Letter of Support for ARPA, New Van for Library
Lamar Mayor, Roger Stagner, signed a letter of support as requested by the City of La Junta, asking the City of Trinidad, an ARPA member, to reconsider its lawsuit against Arkansas River Power Authority. Lamar Police Make Holiday Drug Bust
Press Release–Lamar Police Department On Saturday, May 26, 2012 at approximately 2:45 P.M., officers from the Lamar Police Department observed a silver Tahoe in the 200 block of East Park Street.
