(Lamar, Colorado, March 30, 2012) Lamar Community College’s Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Beta Eta Gamma chapter has selected Kody Ingle as its nomination for the 2012 All-Colorado Academic Team. Ingle was honored at a statewide PTK event in Denver on March 16. In addition to acknowledgement of their achievements in front of family members, state legislators, and college presidents, each member of the PTK All-Colorado Academic Team received a certificate and medallion commemorating their selection to the team, the option to accept substantial scholarships from DeVry University, Johnson and Wales University and Regis University to assist in their baccalaureate degree, and additional gifts, including Motorola totebags.
A 2010 Lamar High School graduate, Ingle accumulated 23 LCC college credits in his senior year. While on the LCC campus, Kody received the Lamar Rotary Scholarship and the Helen K. and Arthur E. Johnson Financial Aid and LCC TRiO Scholar Awards; these scholarships allowed him to pursue his goals and further his education. As a on-campus college student, he became active in LCC’s PTK chapter, assisting with the chapter’s food and used textbook drives and becoming vice president for the fall 2011 semester.
“LCC was a comfortable place to learn and be,” commented Ingle. “It helped me to find my way. The college instructors are very good and point you to additional resources to be successful. And LCC’s PTK chapter allowed me to be around others who were also focused on their education.”
His coursework in biology and anatomy & physiology sparked an interest in bio-engineering. In December of 2011, Kody graduated with an Associate of Science from LCC and is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Science in Bio-Engineering at the University of Colorado at Denver. He will return to Lamar to participate in LCC’s Commencement on April 28.
His mother, Angela Warren, and siblings, Alex, Karly and Allison still reside in Lamar.
