Prowers County Public Health and Environment (PCPHE) is working with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) in a nationwide campaign to educate Americans about the dangers of radon exposure and to encourage them to take action to protect their homes and families. Prowers County Commissioners Review Annexation Regulations, Levee Upgrade Plans for County
The Prowers County Commissioners discussed several topics with Mary Root, County Land Use Administrator during their Thursday meeting, March 22. A flood map is being completed for officials in compliance with mandated upgrades to the levee system throughout the country, mandated by FEMA and officials from the National Insurance Commission. Oscar Riley is sworn in as Lamar’s latest city council member by Judge Stanley Brinkley Friday morning, March 23. The events are usually held during city council meetings, but as no judges will be available March 26 for the next council meeting, the event took place Friday morning. Lamar Rec Advisory Board Focuses on Sports Plex
“We’re going to seek a $265,000 GoCo grant to complete the Sports Plex,” said Lamar Leisure Services Director, Rick Akers, as he addressed the Lamar Recreation Advisory Board during their monthly meeting, Wednesday, March 21. Akers presented board members a list of future city master plan projects that will require funding before they can advance.
