The Lamar Utilities Board is seeking bids to sell leftover scrap metal and railroad railing from the Repowering Project. The metal will be sold at a per ton price and the awarded bidder will be responsible for all transportation and handling of the metal.
The Lamar Light Plant filed a claim with CIRSA, the city insurance carrier, for compensation for the purchase of faulty brushes on the plant’s wind turbines. The LUB claims the faulty brushes are responsible for damage to the slip rings in the turbines. Several sections of Lamar experienced temporary power outages on Sunday, March 4. An underground cable serving Strainhurst Apartments failed causing the outage in East Cedar Street, Highland Hill and portions of South Main Street.
Jay Sneller’s request of a line extension t his farm property on CR SS was approved. The fee will be incorporated into monthly payments over a five year contract for the 600 feet of line construction. The next utility board meeting will be held on March 27.
