Business of the Week – Carla’s Dress Shop
You help your community thrive when you shop locally!
Be sure to read The Prowers Journal each week when we highlight a featured Business of the Week.
This week we spotlight Carla’s Dress Shop at 213 Main Street in Lamar, owned and operated by Carla Spitz.
Carla’s, 213 South Main Street, downtown Lamar, just celebrated 16 years in business. There has been a woman’s clothing store at this location under different owners for a number of years.
We offer ladies ready-to-wear clothing and accessories in a variety of sizes and looks. Styles have changed through the years and we work to keep the latest looks and trends. “Dressy Casual” and “Jeaneration” are terms often heard at the Dallas Apparel Mart. We have become more of a dress-down society instead of a dress-up society. We offer several brands of jeans to accommodate this growing trend…Not Your Daughter’s Jeans, Tribal, Ethyl, Silver, Miss Me, Grace in L.A., Sassy Sistas and we are hoping to add more this spring.
Along with jeans, we have added several new junior brands in tops…Vocal, My Michele, XOXO, Miss Me, Democracy, Pink Cattleac, and Jolt. We continue to offer our very popular brands in Belldini, City Girl, Christine Alexander, Tribal, Multiples and many more in our sportswear lines. If you’re looking for dresses for prom, pageants, weddings or parties, we have a great selection in the latest styles.
We enjoy helping you find that perfect jewelry, scarf, or handbag to polish your look. We carry Brighton jewelry, handbags by Schandra, Blue Elegance and Kathy Van Zeeland. In time for this Christmas season, we’ve added Gypsy Soule boots.
Winter weather is here and we have coats and jackets in wools, leathers and polyesters for every need and occasion.
Our prices are below mall prices on many of the same brands, so shop local ad save time and gas money. It keeps the sales tax dollars working for us at home. Remember gift certificates are a great gift idea for Christmas and we offer free gift wrapping.
We value and appreciate our customers and have built lasting friendships with them. One of the greatest compliments we receive from this is, “people stop me when I travel and ask me where I bought my clothing.” I tell them Carla’s in Lamar, Colorado.
Carla’s Dress Shop is open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 5:30pm. Our phone number is 336-5028.
