Lodging Panel Funds Sand and Sage Summer 2012

    The Prowers Lodging Tax Panel approved a $10,000 donation for next year’s entertainment act for the Sand and Sage Fair.  There were no other applicants before the panel for November’s meeting.  Brandon Sherwood, representing the fair board, said the money will be used for contract fees and for marketing the event in regional advertising.  Sherwood said the sooner a booking agent can be contacted, the better the chances of bringing in a more marketable talent.  … Read entire article »

Sewer Line Repairs Underway at Cow Palace Inn

Prowers County Sheriff’s October 2011 Report

The Prowers County Sheriff’s office responded to 319 calls for service in October with 122 from Lamar, 41 from Holly, 19 from Wiley and 129 from the County.    Lamar had 22 jail related calls, four for drugs and two for thefts.  Holly calls included two for burglary and disturbances, Wiley had three calls for domestic violence and there were 23 calls in the County for traffic offenses and accidents, three for theft, twelve for animal … Read entire article »
