Lamar Police Make Drug Related Arrest

Press Release: On Friday, June 24, 2011, Lamar detectives and patrol officers arrested Bessie Marie Holloway, 40, of Lamar for a warrant resulting from the investigation of unlawfully distributing a Schedule II controlled substance, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and child abuse. The Lamar municipal pool was closed for the day, Wednesday, June 29, due to a chlorine leak.  Unfortunate timing, as Wednesday has been the hottest day of the year, posting a downtown temperature of 108 shortly before 2pm. PROWERS COUNTY – Traffic signals will be activated next week at the bridge reconstruction site on State Highway 89, one mile south of Holly. The Lamar Utilities Board meeting on Tuesday, June 28, covered a limited agenda, before moving into executive session for discussions. A dozen power poles were burned during the Ft. The Lamar City Council, acting as the Redevelopment Board on Monday, June 27, tabled approving a resolution for an intergovernmental agreement to pay the Prowers County Hospital District a portion of the TIF revenue generated by the hospital district levy.
