A celebration of life memorial service for longtime Lamar, Colorado resident, Brenda M. Rowe, will be held at 10:00 AM Monday June 13, 2011 at the Lamar Christian Church in Lamar. Ian Blacker will officiate the service and in-urnment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in Lamar. Per Brenda’s request, cremation has taken place and there will be no public visitation. Lamar City & County Office Schedule: MEMORIAL DAY
All City offices will be closed on Monday, May 30, 2011 in observance of Memorial Day. The Community Building will also be closed on Monday, May 30, 2011. Relay for Life, Requesting Food Donations for June 4-5 Event
The 2011 Relay for Life Committee of Lamar is asking for donations of food and drink items to be sold in the concession stand during Relay. Southeast Colorado Drought Status – Portions Now at D4 Designation
Lack of significant precipitation for southeast Colorado has brought the current drought situation to a D4, (Exceptional) status for extreme southeast Baca County as of Sunday, May 22. Water/Sewer Problems Continue for Prosperity Lane
A water main leak and sewer pumps failures are driving up costs for members of the Prosperity Lane Sewer District. Ken Cullen and George Schmidt, Prosperity Lane Board members, approached the Prowers County Commissioners Thursday, May 19 seeking guidance on establishing a special assessment for district members to cover the cost of current repairs and replacement of pumps.
