Latest Colorado Drought Status from the Colorado Water Conservation Board
Based on the data and information provided to the WATF by the State Climatologist, the Natural Resources Conservation Service, the National Weather Service, and other experts, the WATF recommended the activation of Phase 2 of the State Drought Mitigation and Response Plan, and recommended the activation of the Agricultural Impact Task Force. Lamar Retail Trades Plans for Summerfest/LCC Fall Students
Retailers and vendors need to sign up at the Lamar Chamber of Commerce for booth space for the June 4 Summerfest. Sidewalk sales and downtown entertainment events are being planned by the Lamar Retail Trades committee for that Saturday, from 10am to 4pm. Prowers Lodging Tax Panel, on the Money Trail
Money, how much, and where is it coming from, were the main issues before members of the Prowers Lodging Tax Panel during their monthly meeting this past Tuesday, May 17. The panel is funded through a 2% tax levied on motels and hotels in the county. The Lamar World Series Committee is starting to finalize some plans, now that the Babe Ruth 16U Softball World Series is less than three months away.
