Graduates Ready for the Future
Lamar Community College will host its seventy-second annual Commencement this Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the LCC Wellness Center at 10am. No tickets are needed to attend the ceremonies featuring 234 degree or certificate-seeking students who are eligible to walk in this year’s commencement. 19 students will graduate with GED’s. Firefighters Take Advantage of Practice Burn
Surveying the progress of the fire Lamar firefighters never pass up an opportunity to hone their skills. Whether they’re found rappelling down Pike’s Tower in Willow Creek Park or torching an abandoned house, they make the most of their time. Many firefighters gave up their Sunday off, to tackle a deliberately set house fire at the north end of South 10th Street.
