Red Flag Alerts in the County

  Members of the Prowers County Volunteer Fire Department responded to a brief grass fire along CR 6 north of Lamar earlier Monday afternoon. The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning alert for all of southeast Colorado for Monday and Tuesday, and almost the entire state for conditions of dry tinder and strong winds. Trailer House Fire Under Investigation

A house trailer at 109 North 12th in Lamar caught fire early Saturday morning. The Lamar fire department responded from 1:16am until 3:33am to the occupied home. The department report said half of the house was on fire when they arrived. There were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire, contained only to the ground floor is under investigation.
