Applications Open for CSP Youth Patrol

The Colorado State Patrol is accepting applications for the 2011 Youth Academy which will be held in Golden, Colorado on June 12^th-June 18^th.  The youth academy is provided free of charge for Colorado students ages 16-18 who are junior or seniors in high school. Students must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license or a valid learners permit with 50 logged hours of driving. Students must also complete an application, pass an interview and provide two letters of reference.  (For a full list of requirements or to download an application, please visit our website at www.csp.state.co.us.)

The goal of the Colorado State Patrol Youth Academy is to assist in the development of our future leaders.  Focus will be on leadership development through team exercises and individual achievements.  The academy is perfect for students interested in a future in law enforcement, the military or simply to enhance their leadership skills. Cadets will be mentally and physically challenged during the seven day training.

The youth academy is limited to 50 participants.   Applications are due by March 11, 2011.   Please contact your local Colorado State Patrol Office for an application.   In Lamar, call 336-7403.
