Prowers County Sheriff Jim Faull with Ben Franco Ben Franco has retired from law enforcement in Lamar and Prowers County, signaling the end of his half century spent in law enforcement. High Plains to Extend Hours and Walk-in Services
High Plains Community Health Center medical patients will now be able to access care on Monday through Thursday evenings until 8 p.m. The evening appointments can be either by appointment or walk-in. Grant Funding Available to Local Businesses in Lamar
The City of Lamar, Lamar Partnership, Inc. has launched the Main Street Efficiency Initiative. Through this Program, small- and medium-sized businesses will be eligible to receive up to $1,000.00 in energy efficiency rebates for facility assessments, lighting retrofits, re-commissioning services, and setback thermostats. Drug Bust in Bristol
The Prowers County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Colorado Department of Corrections Parole Officers with a home visit on Parolee Noe Camacho, age 43 of Bristol, Colorado. During the home visit, a large amount of cocaine and currency were located. Sheriff Deputies arrested Camacho on the charge of Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance with the Intent to Distribute – Cocaine, and transported him to the Prowers County Jail. Camacho was held on $50,000.00 bond and Parole placed a hold on him for the new charge. Deputies seized approximately 13 grams of cocaine and $3500.00 in currency. Applications Open for CSP Youth Patrol
The Colorado State Patrol is accepting applications for the 2011 Youth Academy which will be held in Golden, Colorado on June 12th-June 18th. The youth academy is provided free of charge for Colorado students ages 16-18 who are junior or seniors in high school. Students must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license or a valid learners permit with 50 logged hours of driving. Students must also complete an application, pass an interview and provide two letters of reference.
